FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Know It All

WHAT IS DERMAL FILLER?

Dermal fillers, also known as Hyaluronic acid fillers are now the most widely used injection (non- surgical procedure) to plump and define lips. Dermal filler creates an appearance of thick lips by attaching itself to water molecules in the skin.

Depending on your natural lip, and the lip shape you desire will depend on how much filler you will need.

WHAT TYPES OF FILLER DO YOU USE?

We only use the best products on the market and these include Juvederm and Restylane. These can last up to 6 months (12 months for Juvederm Volift) however results may vary for each individual as factors such as smoking, excessive exercise and sunbeds could breakdown filler quicker in some cases. Please contact for further information.

I WANT TO COME WITH A FRIEND — DOES THE FILLER CLUB OFFER PACKAGE DEALS?

Please feel free to bring a friend to your appointment.
If you and a friend book together you will both receive £10 off any treatment.

WHICH PAYMENT METHODS DOES THE FILLER CLUB ACCEPT?

We accept cash or bank transfer. Bank details will be given on the day of your procedure if this is your preferred method of payment.

WHAT ARE SIDE EFFECTS OF FILLER?

The main side effects of filler are bruising and swelling. To help prevent bruising, arnica tablets and cream are recommended to be used 5 days prior and post procedure. Ibuprofen/aspirin should not be used 2 days before the procedure as this can thin the blood. Paracetamol can be used as an alternative analgesia. If you are on blood thinning medication such as warfarin, please contact me to discuss.
Post procedure you may want to take paracetamol for a pain relief and an antihistamine for swelling however you may not need this. Vaseline can be used on the lips to help prevent drying out/cracking of the lips.

Allergic reactions to hyaluronic are rare as Hyaluronic acid is naturally found within the body however there may be a possibity of developing a lump (called a granuloma) of inflamed tissue.

This kind of filler can also produce lumps if injected in the wrong part of the skin, like if it’s not injected deeply enough. These lumps can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. This is an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid.

A less common side effect is a blocked blood vessel. This reduces blood flow to the lip. It can ultimately damage your lip tissues however this is very rare and can be treated with Hyaluronidase which we keep at all times.

DO I NEED TO PAY A DEPOSIT?

Yes, a £25 deposit is required to secure your appointment.

Our clinic gets booked up very quickly and we try to keep waiting lists to a minimum. If a client fails to attend their appointment, we end up with a vacant slot that we could have offered to another person. The deposit is taken to discourage last minute cancellations. If you let me know you cannot attend your appointment 48 hours in advance, your deposit can be still be used towards a new appointment and can be moved to an alternative day of your choice (this also depends on appointments available).

Deposits are non-refundable as they secure your appointment and are taken off the price of your procedure at the end.
